Didn’t I Hear This Before, Nope, It’s New: Bad Love by Summer Camp

If someone came back from a thrift store telling me they found some musical gold from the 80’s and handed me Summer Camp’s new Bad Love album. I’d be pleased and not question it so much. With soothing synths and solid base lines, this UK duo has hit something great that fits in that era of popular music.

Like their other albums, Summer Camp has very melodic and airy sounds. Bad Love stands out as a very angsty and tributing puppy love relationships along with their failings. A very nice contrast to Welcome to Condale and their self-titled album, which were even more innocent than Bad Love is. Starting strong with the Bad Love track, it gives a strong teenage 80’s movie vibe that just draws you in and moves your hips. Give it a listen. It’s wonderful and makes you feel like you have time traveled.
